Manchester United Women welcomed Arsenal to Leigh Sports Village last night, hoping to walk away with the 3 points in their bid to increase their lead in WSL title race. Russo scored in added time in the first half, and Arsenak failed to find a reply through the second half.

Amidst mounting injuries in the Arsenal squad, captain Kim Little has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury. In a worrying turn of events, Leah Williamson suffered an injury in the first half, forcing a substitution just 15 minutes into the game. This will be a major concern not only for the Gunners and their manager, Jonas Eidevall, but also for Lionesses coach Sarina Wiegman. As the captain of the Euro-winning Lionesses and a key player for England, Leah’s injury will be closely monitored, especially with the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on the horizon, taking place in Australia and New Zealand this summer.
