Manchester United continued their pursuit of the Women’s Super League title by defeating Tottenham at the weekend.

At Leigh Sports Village, Marc Skinner’s team was in control and took the lead in the first half with goals from Leah Galton and Alessia Russo. Nikita Parris increased their lead after the break when Tottenham was unable to clear a cross from Galton.

Despite sporadic opportunities for the relegation-threatened Spurs, Manchester United managed to keep them at bay and secure a convincing victory.

Manchester United remain top of the WSL table on 50 points but crucially, Chelsea are only 4 points behind United with 2 games in hand.
