Tottenham v Reading. Will Spurs make it to Women’s FA Cup quarter-finals? by Michelle

Tottenham Hotspur and Reading, neither are in their best form. Tomorrow will be their 3rd clash this season, but this Sunday a place in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup Quarter-Finals is at stake.

Having already met in the Conti Cup group stage and in the Women’s Super League, one of these teams must come up with something soon and provide something to be proud of.

Spurs go into Sunday’s match on the back of two narrow defeats at home to title-fighters Chelsea and Manchester United, though they did thrash London City in the previous round of the FA Cup.

In fairness to the Royals, they have only played a single game since their penalty shoot-out win over Leicester in the Fourth Round, though that was a two-goal beating by Liverpool. Reading’s most recent league win was over Spurs back in early December.

That reflects their status in the division, currently avoiding the drop by a sole point.

Putting all that aside, neither of these two teams have lifted the prestigious FA Cup trophy, and neither have made it to Wembley, so a win here would be a huge boost for either team.

Who do you think has the upper-hand on this one?  I think the addition of Beth England to the Tottenham squad is making a big difference already, since she arrived in the January transfer window. I quite fancy Tottenham to get to the quarter-finals myself..
