Chelsea beat Manchester United 1-0  at the weekend, taking 3 points and mocing to the top of the WSL table on 37 points, dropping Manchester United to 2nd on 35 points. Manchester City won 2-1 away to Brighton, taking the 3 points and giving them 35 points alongside Manchester United – though City remain in 3rd on goal difference.

Arsenal remain in 4th place in the WSL but taking 3 points from Reading at the weekend has taken the Gunners to 32 points – only 3 points behind Manchester United and City, 2 clubs which Arsenal have a game in hand over. Below is the Top 4 detail in the WSL with only 5 points separating 1st place Chelsea from 4th place Arsenal – Chelsea also have a game in hand over both United and City..

I don’t think I remember a time when things were so tight at the top of the WSL, which should make for a very exciting end to the 2022-23 season. Only the top 3 clubs can be included in next year’s Champions League so qualification in the top 3 is exceptionally important.

Who do you think is going to win the WSL this season? Chelsea again? Could their big London rivals Arsenal challenge them? Or will the title go up north to Manchester?
